Eastern Oklahoma Medical Center’s school-based telehealth program is a win-win for students, parents, staff and the community. The new service offered by EOMC in partnership with the Poteau and Howe School Districts, is a huge benefit to the kids who don’t have another opportunity to see a doctor, and for the parents who need to have their child seen at the time of the medical issue. Children can get seen at school ANYTIME using AMD’s telemedicine technology to connect the student/school nurse with the remote nurse practitioner who can examine the child. This helps keep students from missing school and parent’s from missing work, for a medical appointment. Watch the Channel 5 news story.
