AMD Global Telemedicine Raises the Bar for Clinical Telemedicine Software Applications

Announcing Two New Enhancement Features Added to AGNES Interactive Telemedicine Software: Universal HL7 Integration and Interactive Stethoscope

Chelmsford, MA, – June 25, 2015 –AMD Global Telemedicine Inc. (AMD), the pioneer of clinical Telemedicine Encounter Management Solutions (TEMS)™ continues to take their highly successful AGNES telemedicine platform to new heights with two new enhancement features that raise the bar for clinical telemedicine software applications. AGNES Interactive’s latest release includes two new features – Universal HL7 Integration and Interactive Stethoscope.

The HL7 feature was re-designed from the ground up to relieve pressure on IT departments to fit telemedicine software into their existing infrastructure, without requiring additional development work from their EMR provider. Universal HL7 Integration feature allows users to seamlessly export the information collected during a patient session, directly to any electronic health record system. The updated HL7 feature includes the ability to configure the types and format of the HL7 message generated by AGNES so integration with an EMR is controlled by simply editing a single configuration file.

The Interactive Stethoscope feature is a first-of-its-kind capability allowing remote physicians to adjust frequency ranges and control the volume of real-time heart/lung sounds streamed live from the patient side. This software-controlled digital stethoscope is unique because it functions through AGNES web-based platform, so no additional software or centralized servers are needed to stream the audio live. The digital stethoscope chest piece interfaces directly to a PC via USB, eliminating pairing issues typically found with electronic stethoscopes that utilize Bluetooth technology.

“As more users are relying on AGNES as the central element of their clinical telemedicine practices, the possibilities for additional functionalities are astounding,” commented Dan McCafferty, V.P. of Global Sales and Corporate Development at AMD Global Telemedicine. “The most recent enhancements to our AGNES platform for Universal HL7 Integration and Interactive Stethoscope are two great examples of merging technologies together to improve capabilities and move telemedicine into mainstream patient care,” added McCafferty.
