AMD Global Telemedicine Inc., Proud to Announce Diane Castelli, Chair of the American Telemedicine Association’s (ATA) Telehealth Nursing Special Interest Group (SIG)

AMD Global Telemedicine Inc., Director of Clinical training, Diane Castelli appointed to represent nurses worldwide in advancing the role of Telenursing.

AMD Global Telemedicine Inc. announces Diane Castelli, RN, MS, MSN, has been elected by her colleagues to chair the American Telemedicine Association’s (ATA) Telehealth Nursing Special Interest Group (SIG). Castelli will guide over 250 Telehealth Nursing SIG members on numerous projects throughout the next two years.

In accepting her new role Ms. Castelli stated, “Telenursing has the capability to truly expand and improve healthcare around the globe. It is vital to collaborate and educate nurses nationally and internationally on the advancements of healthcare technologies.”

As clinical telemedicine becomes more prevalent; both in the U.S. and around the globe, training remains imperative for proper functionality and program success for new and existing sites alike. AMD uses a combination of both video and on-site training to ensure proper implementation of telemedicine programs. Various deployed global sites include: Armenia, Azerbaijan, The Bahamas, Botswana, Canada, China, Greenland, South Africa and Sweden.

Ms. Castelli is also a member of the International Society for Telemedicine and eHealth (ISfTeH) Telenursing Working Group (TWG) and recently presented on the “Advancement of International Telenursing” at the Med-e-Tel Conference in Luxembourg. Diane is one of several founding members of the TWG along with; Loretta Schlachta-Fairchild, RN, PhD (USA), Lois Scott, RN, MSN (Canada) and Bob Pyke, RN, ANP (USA). The ISfTeh Telenursing Working Group has also founded the new on-line Telenursing Network for the International Council of Nursing Inc (ICN), Geneva, Switzerland.

Ms. Castelli joined AMD in 2002 and has been a member of the American Telemedicine Association since 1996. She currently holds Masters Degrees in both Communications and Forensic Nursing from Fitchburg State College, Fitchburg, MA.
