New employees join AMD to contribute to the formation of its Telemedicine Design Group

AMD Global Telemedicine has recently expanded in an effort to strategically engage clients globally. AMD seeks to deepen its service offerings to its existing installation base of 5,100 sites in 74 countries.

Telemedicine programs are multifaceted due to constant advances in technology, the accumulation of multiple sites as well as the addition of new modalities. AMD’s Telemedicine Design Group was formed to provide continuous support to new and prospective clients in the effective and successful implementation of telemedicine programs.

Dan McCafferty, Vice President of Global Sales & Corporate Development is overall responsible for AMD’s Telemedicine Design Group. He brings a diverse and deep background to the leadership of AMD with 25 years of experience in senior roles within; manufacturing operations, marketing, sales, business development and professional services. Dan is an active member of the American Telemedicine Association as well as the Canadian Society of Telehealth.

Brenda Bourassa, Manager, International Telemedicine Design Group has been with AMD for 9 years and brings with her 25 years of international business experience. She has tremendous knowledge of import & export requirements including licensing policies and procedures. Her international knowledge has proven to be instrumental as AMD expands their installations worldwide.

Brian Douglas arrived at AMD with 7 years in the medical device industry including sales and training with advanced surgical video systems. He is also a Manager within the Telemedicine Design Group focusing on Federal Telemedicine such as Department of Corrections, Department of Defense and Veterans Health Administration. His diverse experience dealing with clinicians in multiple medical specialties including radiology, surgery, and primary care, provides an excellent base of knowledge when proposing telemedicine workflow solutions. An 8 year resident of Alaska, Brian gained first hand insights into the challenges facing rural residents and the solutions available via telemedicine.

Bruce Bond joins AMD as a Manager within the Telemedicine Design Group covering the Eastern territories of the United States and Canada. He brings over 20 years of experience in Operations Management, Project Implementation, Supply/Workflow initiatives and client problem solving. Jeff Splavec joins the Telemedicine Design Group as a Manager of the Western territories of the United States and Canada. He arrives with 18 years of sales experience in consumer products, telecommunications, and medical industries. Jeff has experience with wireless compliance monitoring and comes to AMD with strong telemedicine skills and enthusiasm.
