AMD Global Telemedicine, Inc. Acquires Distribution Rights for AFHCAN’s tConsult Telehealth Systems

AMD Global Telemedicine, Inc. (AMD) and AFHCAN® Global Telehealth Solutions LLC have signed a deal giving AMD worldwide distribution rights to AFHCAN tConsult™ technology, thus expanding AMD’s Leadership Position in Telemedicine Industry

North Chelmsford, MA, November 16, 2009 — AMD Global Telemedicine, Inc. (AMD) and AFHCAN® Global Telehealth Solutions LLC have signed a deal giving AMD worldwide distribution rights to AFHCAN tConsult™ technology. The tConsult Telehealth Software is equipped with device management, case creation, work flow and archival capabilities that have proven tremendously effective in many clinical telemedicine scenarios.

AFHCAN’s tConsult technology is a fully secure and HIPPA-compliant “store and forward” telemedicine solution that can operate on PCs or fully integrated medical carts. The tConsult software seamlessly integrates hardware, medical devices and communications platforms providing the ability to create a telemedicine case with textual patient information, data and images from biomedical peripherals and send the case for consultation. Health care professionals are able to view the data using a web browser on any standard computer.

Under the terms of the agreement AMD will have exclusive worldwide commercial distribution rights for all tConsult applications – which include an HL7 interface to Electronic Health Record systems. The Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium (ANTHC) retains distribution rights for Alaska customers and non-commercial customers such as Federal agencies and tribal customers. The agreement applies to all of AFHCAN’s existing tConsult technology as well as future versions.

AMD views this arrangement with AFHCAN as very promising for the growth of AMD customers’ programs. “Owning the distribution rights to AFHCAN’s tConsult technology marks a major milestone in AMD’s transition to that of a Telemedicine Encounter Management Systems company,” said Steven Normandin, AMD president. “This agreement represents two industry leaders coming together to advance important and useful technology in the field of telemedicine. Our expanded partnership with AFHCAN reflects the common vision that both organization share, namely to provide our customers with complete telemedicine systems. “

“AFHCAN and AMD share a common vision of transforming healthcare access and delivery via telemedicine,” stated Stewart Ferguson, AFHCAN’s director. “With their longevity in the industry, their reach and their reputation, AMD was the clear choice for this commercial relationship.”
